About The Magazine

The history of Essex Terror is as twisted and broken as the neck of the most horrifying man or beast that has ever been. Launched in 1989 by local skull-faced man David N. Guy, the original short-lived publication was said by some to be a front for shadowy and possibly illegal forces. Later sold at auction to the Church of Scientology, East Grinstead chapter, this initial run of the magazine limped on for 12 issues before finally folding (rumours of a mysterious Issue 13 are thought to be apocryphal). Only a single black and white photocopied edition of Issue 12 remains.

Then there was silence for 19 years. Essex Terror appeared to have been forgotten. But after the archival efforts of local librarian David N. Guy (no relation), the only remaining copy of the original magazine was preserved on the Internet. Phenomenal interest followed, which led directly to the formation of Essex Terror!, a new and legally unrelated endeavour (now edited by Terald Vaaak, with contributions from David N. Guy, David N. Guy, R. Field, and more) that nevertheless attempts to plough the same lonely furrow as the original magazine — namely to,

TERRIFY AND APPALL!
