Send your work to EssexTerror (at) googlemail (dot) com with the subject heading ‘Reader Submission’. Please put everything in the body of the email and don’t use attachments. If you’re sending artwork to accompany your submission, just send us a link to the image instead (Flickr.com, Imageshack.us, Photobucket.com and Tinypic.com are all viable options).
Essex Terror! is currently open to reader submissions in the following categories:
Anything related to horror, the paranormal and Occult, anthropology, cryptozoology, secret history, weird science, conspiracy theories, and of course Essex, will be considered. Your chosen subject should be terrifying and, though not essential, it is preferable for it to be Essex-based.
Short fiction from the following genres are well suited to our magazine: Fantasy, Science Fiction, Horror, Weird and New Weird, Bizarro, Alternate History, Mystery, Thriller/Suspense. You should use previous submissions to Essex Terror! as a guideline for what we’d like to see.
We will also consider submissions that don’t fit into the above categories, as long as they’re relevant to our magazine and reasonably suited to its format.

Essex Terror! is always very grateful for submissions but regrets it cannot pay you for your work. We can however attest to a warm glow in the pit of the stomach upon seeing your work on our hallowed pages, accompanied by a more general sense of acute paranoia and fear for your life, after which is guaranteed a steady descent into insanity, despair, and uncontrollable bouts of public nudity.
